Fabulous fashion and fun for a cause.
On Tuesday 16 February City Branch held two fundraising Fashion Parades at The New Artisans Gallery at Milson’s Point thanks to the generosity of its owner Pauline Plumb. Fashions from Made to Wear designed by Joanne Pagano were modelled by her team of six models. Handmade jewellery by Plumb & Co enhanced the costumes which were one off pieces made of natural fibres, linen, silk and New Zealand and Australian wools.
Funds to be directed to City Branch were raised through ticket sales, 10% of proceeds from the fashion sales, a raffle and two silent auction items, generously donated by artists and other donors. Although somewhat limited by COVID restrictions, there was still a total of seventy women who attended the two events making a substantial contribution to the funds for City Branch’s awards program. This year’s awards are for women students taking the TAFE pathway to university and an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander woman over 25 years who is in the second year of her university degree.
A wonderful time was had by all; some great fashion finds and thanks to Pauline, Joanne and everyone involved in its success.
