Graduate Women NSW takes great pleasure in congratulating two members who have been recognised in the recent Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

NSW Member and past Education Convenor, Dr Wendy Michaels, who is Conjoint Fellow, School of Humanities and Social Science, University of Newcastle, was awarded a Medal OAM in the general division: ‘For service to women, and to the dramatic arts’.

Dalma Jacobs, who is a Member Emerita (national), has held many and significant positions for AGW and QLD including CIR 2006-12, 2015-18, Delegate for AGW to eS4W since 2006 and other state based roles. Dalma was awarded a Medal OAM in the general division: ‘For service to women in tertiary education’.

Both women have worked tirelessly to promote educational opportunities for women and girls, advancing equality for all, some of the central themes of GW-NSW and its affiliates. They join other members of GW-NSW who have been recognised in previous Queen’s Honours Lists for their work on behalf of the Australian community and society at large.

We congratulate them for their richly deserved recognition.
